Entry level electronic microplate sealer
The entry level MiniSeal microplate sealer from Porvair Sciences is proving popular with laboratories handling smaller batches of plates and in particular those tasked with sealing deep well plates that require extra pressure. Designed for convenience, the compact microplate sealer just requires plugging into a single electrical outlet to operate. The need to site a thermal sealer near a compressed air source, or to buy a dedicated compressor is eliminated. Unlike hand-operated manual thermal sealers, this sealer uses a preset sealing pressure to deliver highly reproducible plate seals time after time. To complement its ease of use and high quality plate sealing, the sealer ensures operator safety with its unique twin-button operation. It offers researchers a reliable and productive sealing tool for maintaining the integrity of their samples while in storage. The versatile device is capable of producing an accurate and tight seal on any standard, deep well or PCR microplate from 3 to 62mm in height. Offering adjustable temperature heatsealing from 50°C up to 200°C, operation is optimum with most foil and film seals. Designed for users that do not have a high number of plates to seal, the CE approved sealer is compact and easy to use, simplifying the sealing process and providing a reliable seal.
Affordable, high quality cell culture flasks
A new range of affordable, high quality cell culture flasks with design features to streamline cell culture workflows is available. Combining the unrivalled optical purity of high-pressure moulded 100% USP Class VI virgin crystal polystyrene with a patented low-pressure gas plasma surface treatment allows cells to adhere more efficiently to the surface by reducing its hydrophobicity. Highly polished moulds and rigorous quality control ensure that perfect visualisation is achieved. The new range of culture flasks is designed with novel features including moulded graduations in the flask walls, opaque areas for laboratory markers and sector division marks on the dishes. Both vented and sealed caps are available for all sizes of flask. The flasks are produced in a Class 10000 / ISO Class VII clean environment to ISO 9001:2008 and EN ISO 13485:2003 manufacturing standards to ensure all products are free from DNA/RNA, DNase/ RNase and Pyrogen contamination.
