Using up to four lasers – blue, red, violet and UV – the LSRFortessa cell analyser enables the detection of up to 18 colours simultaneously. Based on BD Bioscience's powerful LSR cell analyser, the new instrument has a benchtop footprint of only 75 x 90 cm allowing lab space to be maximised without sacrificing functionality. The system incorporates collection optics that reduce excitation losses and improve light collection efficiency. This results in an optical efficiency that delivers maximal sensitivity and resolution for multicolour applications. If necessary the platform can be upgraded with additional or new lasers through the special order programme to meet precise assay requirements. Custom configurations with up to five lasers, a choice of more than 11 wavelengths, 30 positional choices for detectors and multiple power options are also available to meet scientists’ exact specifications. These systems offer powerful and accessible multicolour flow cytometry analysis for life science applications in pharmaceutical and biotechnology laboratories.
