The “Eppendorf & Science Prize for Neurobiology” 2007, an annual international research prize of $25,000, has been awarded to Rachel Wilson, Ph.D., Harvard Medical School, USA for her study of neural circuits underlying chemical perception. Her findings reveal how olfactory stimuli are represented as patterns of electrical activity in the brain. The prize is sponsored by Eppendorf and the internationally renowned journal, Science. The prize is open to all young scientists who are 35 years of age or younger and who have made outstanding contributions to neurobiological research using methods of molecular and cell biology. This year’s winner was selected from a pool of approximately 30 applicants by a distinguished committee of scientists chaired by the Editor-in-Chief of Science magazine, Dr Donald Kennedy. For more information on the prize, visit www.eppendorf.com/prize. The next deadline for applications is June 15, 2008.
